Hello Everyone!

 

Sadly, we have wrapped up our fall 2008 season which ends softball play for the year.  It all started back in January with our winter clinic and rolled right into the spring season, Sterling Spirit summer season and of course for those who wanted to keep playing, our exciting but fast fall season.    We would like to thank the coaches, parents, players and fans of LLGSL for a great year in 2008.  We know the commitment it takes to get to practice and games on time and juggle schedules so give yourselves a big round of applause! 

 

A couple of items to report:

 

1.  LLGSL board of Directors annual election will be held in December.  Terms are two years in length.  There are 3-4 positions open this year and we would like to fill those with representatives (parents) from the house league.  The league really needs the help and direction in areas such as recruiting, equipment management, fund raising, etc.  So, if you are interested please send your name and contact information to Pat Ward at operations@llgsl.com to get on the nomination list. 

 

2.  The Winter Clinic dates will be announced in the next few weeks.  Please watch the web site for further information.

 

3.  Spring registration will be online starting 1 January 09.  Sign up early and save!

 

 

The LLGSL board would also like to invite parents, coaches, or players to provide any input that would help make our league more successful for the girls.  Basically we do not have any guidelines on the input.  We know there are areas and targets for improvement.  Some are in our control.  Other's are not. Keep in mind that the few volunteers we do have work really hard on the important stuff:  keep the league fun, competitive, and a positive place to learn the sport of fast pitch softball.  So if you do have a negative comment, please don't send it along without a plan on helping or a way to correct the problem or issue.  Someone told me along time ago that its easy to be a critic.  Our board, our coaches our parents all have lives outside of LLGSL and softball and volunteer their time to contribute to the success of your league.  So if you have a few spare hours or can help, we would like to hear from you too!  Please send all comments to president@llgsl.com.
